Embraer Announces Commitments for up to 300 Aircraft

By the end of the second day of the ongoing Farnborough International Air Show, Embraer had announced commitments for up to 300 aircraft, with a total worth of about US$15 billion. The deals are for both the E1 and E2 aircraft families.

After signing a deal with United Airlines order for 25 Embraer 175s on the opening day of the show, the Brazilian plane maker said that it had a firm order from Republic Airways for 100 E175s as well as an additional 100 purchase rights. Azul intends to add 21 aircraft to its firm order for 30 E195-E2s. The company also has a firm order from Wataniya Airways for 10 E195-E2s plus 10 purchase rights.

Switzerland’s Helvetic Airways has signed a letter of intent to add 12 E190-E2s to its fleet; the deal also includes 12 purchase rights. Mauritania Airlines is purchasing two Embraer 175s while lessor Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) is adding another three E190s to its fleet. Embraer also has a firm order for three more E195-E2s, and purchase rights on another two, from an undisclosed Spanish operator.
