Embraer Praetor 600 Earns Canadian Type Certificate

: Feb 14, 2021 - : 12:34 am

The Praetor 600 super-midsize business jet was granted a type certificate by Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA), Embraer has announced.

The Praetor 600, a super-midsize jet, has surpassed all its main design goals and is capable of flying beyond 4,000 nautical miles in long-range cruise speed or beyond 3,700 nautical miles at Mach .80 from runways shorter than 4,500f. Apart from outstanding payload capability, the jet offers unparalleled performance from wet and contaminated runways (snow, standing water), which are common in the intense Canadian winter.

Praetor 600 is now the farthest-flying super-midsize jet, able to make nonstop flights between Toronto and London, Montreal and Paris, Calgary and Honolulu, and Vancouver and San Juan.  It is the first super-midsize jet with full fly-by-wire technology, which powers turbulence reduction that not only makes every flight the smoothest but also the most efficient possible, being able to reduce maintenance downtime by as much as 40% compared to conventional control.

“Canada is an important market for Embraer, and we are excited to continue to serve this market with our industry-leading products,” said Michael Amalfitano, President & CEO of Embraer Executive Jets. “The Praetor 600 is the world’s most disruptive and technologically advanced super-midsize jet with superior performance and technology in addition to, offering the smoothest flight in a best-in-class 6-foot-tall flat-floor cabin, resulting in the ultimate passenger comfort.”

In addition to the lowest cabin altitude in the class (5,800 feet) and 100% fresh air capability, Embraer has made the HEPA filter standard on all Praetor aircraft, announced the certification of a new electric lavatory pocket door, and approved the use of MicroShield360 long-lasting disinfectant, antibacterial cleaner solution. This year, use of Bacoban  was also approved.

Embraer announced the first delivery of the new Praetor 600 in June of 2019, and in late 2020 delivered the first Praetor 600 to fleet launch customer Flexjet.
