EM&E Group, a Spanish defence and security technology company, has been awarded a contract to supply the Royal Thai Navy with two SENTINEL 30 Naval Remote-Controlled Weapon Stations (RCWS). These stations will be equipped with Mk44 Stretch Bushmaster Chain Guns and will be integrated with two OTEOS Electro-Optic Systems, which will function as fire control systems.
This marks the first time EM&E Group has supplied naval equipment to the Royal Thai Navy. The contract is part of a programme aimed at enhancing response capability and accuracy through stabilisation, remote control, and advanced target tracking.
The SENTINEL 30 weapon stations and OTEOS systems will be installed on the Royal Thai Navy’s Tor 997 and Tor 998 patrol boats. The SENTINEL 30 can fire 30x173mm ammunition and has a 200-round capacity per ammunition box. It is also compatible with Programmable Air Burst Munition.
EM&E Group has previously worked with the Royal Thai Navy, having supplied seven GUARDIAN 1.5 Land Remote-Controlled Weapon Stations in 2024. These systems were mounted on Chaiseri armoured amphibious vehicles and included 12.7 mm heavy machine guns with remote operation, enhancing the marines' capabilities.
Beyond the navy, other Thai authorities also use EM&E Group’s technology. The Royal Thai Police operates aunav.NEXT robots for neutralising improvised explosive devices across the country. These robots are capable of lifting up to 250 kg and feature two synchronised arms.
