Eve Urban Air Mobility to Cooperate with Beacon‘s Maintenance Platform

Our Bureau - : Jul 2, 2021 - : 1:20 pm

Eve Urban Air Mobility Solutions has announced a cooperation with Beacon, the maintenance coordination platform from EmbraerX, to be included in Eve’s portfolio of service and support solutions.

Eve will utilize Beacon’s multi-sided platform that connects and synchronizes industry resources, the aftermarket supply chain, and aviation professionals in a more agile and efficient way to keep aircraft flying. Both Eve and Beacon were incubated by EmbraerX, a market accelerator for disruptive innovation businesses from Embraer.

“This initiative highlights an important pillar of our strategic plan as it reinforces the relevance of innovation and diversification for the company’s sustainable growth. Eve and Beacon are bringing new capabilities to the market, creating disruptive solutions for urban air mobility. Initiatives like this drive the future of our business,” said Francisco Gomes Neto, President and CEO of Embraer.

Beacon, which recently announced agreements with ABS Jets and The Mobile Repair Team (MRT), brings together different stakeholders working on unscheduled interruptions to foster real-time collaboration. As a result, Beacon accelerates the return to service of aircraft. By the end of April 2021, Beacon concluded over 35,000 unscheduled cases by more than one thousand users. These numbers are expected to grow as the aviation industry recovers from the COVID-19 crisis.

Eve’s human-centered electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) zero-emission and low-noise aircraft design represents a simple and intuitive design that continues to reach development milestones, including the first flight of the engineering simulator in July 2020 with planned full-scale flights in 2021.

Eve is also harnessing the expertise of both Embraer and Atech, a subsidiary of the Embraer Group, in providing globally-recognized air traffic management software to create the solutions that will help safely scale the UAM industry.
