It rained deals during the four trade days of Farnborough International Airshow 2026.
The big aircraft OEMs - Airbus, Boeing and Embraer - had a busy time at the event, securing 353 firm aircraft orders. Airbus and Boeing also recorded options for a further 12 aircraft. The demand for new aircraft was spread across narrowbody and widebody aircraft as well as regional jets. Airbus recorded firm orders for 10 helicopters during the event. The combined value of all the deals signed at the biennial event is US$84.7bn (£62.9bn.
The growing global demand for engines was reflected at the event. GE Aerospace, CFM International, and Pratt & Whitney ended the show with a total of 904 firm orders, with Pratt & Whitney also securing options for an additional 60 engines. Advanced air mobility companies also generated interest at the show, with Archer and Anduril unveiling a new dual-use autonomous VTOL Aircraft Platform - the Thunder VTOL (defence) and Halo (commercial aviation). Both the variants feature a hybrid-electric powertrain.
