Poly Technologies of China is displaying models of its newly developed FT-8A multipurpose missile weapon system and the CM-501GA precision strike missile weapon system at the ongoing KADEX2018.
The FT-8A was developed in 2016 and can be installed on various general platforms such as wheeled vehicles, helicopter, UAV and small ship.
“The missile has a range of 10 kilometres and weighs 42.5 kilogram. The 2190 millimetre long two-staged solid propellant missile has a penetration depth of 900 millimetre, and uses LOBL and LOAL attack modes,” an official at the Poly Defence tells Daily News.
An airborne version of the FT-8A is currently in development. The missile will be offered to the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) soon, and will also be available for interested customers. “We have a strong relation with Kazakhstan and have several ongoing projects. We want to expand our relationship with these news products,” the official says.
Poly Technologies is also showcasing its CM-501GA precision strike missiles. “The CM-501GA provides a means for precision strikes on land targets. The missile has a 10km-40km point strike capability and multiple platform compatibility and regional combat capability,” he says.
The missile has vertical launch capability and fitted on a suitable high mobility platform it can operate in any terrain. The launcher can be set up with different combinations of modules on the basis of client needs,” he says.
The CM-501GA missile comprises sub-systems such as guidance control system with TV/IR seeker, propulsion system and HE fuze-warhead system. The launch system has a launch control unit and a launcher. The system embraces modular structural design, and a multiple box launch system can be set up with different combination of modules.
