Japanese regional carrier Fuji Dream Airlines has placed a firm order for two additional Embraer E175 regional jets, expanding its all-Embraer fleet as the airline strengthens its domestic network across Japan.

Embraer announced the order at the Farnborough International Airshow. The agreement had not previously been disclosed but has already been been included in the Brazilian planemaker's order backlog.

The two aircraft will join Fuji Dream Airlines' existing fleet of 15 Embraer E170 and E175 jets operating from its main base at Shizuoka Airport to destinations throughout Japan.

The new E175s will be configured with 84 seats in a single-class layout and are scheduled for delivery between 2027 and 2028.

"The E175 continues to demonstrate outstanding reliability, efficiency and passenger comfort, making it an ideal aircraft for regional operators," Arjan Meijer, president and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, said in a statement.

He added that the aircraft has helped support Fuji Dream Airlines' operations and the growth of regional air travel in Japan.

Fuji Dream Airlines President Shunsuke Honda said the additional aircraft would increase capacity and strengthen the airline's network connecting communities across the country.

"We are also very pleased that this order represents an opportunity to further develop our long-standing partnership with Embraer," Honda said.

Founded in 2008 as part of the Suzuyo Group, Fuji Dream Airlines is a full-service regional carrier operating an all-Embraer fleet. The airline serves 29 domestic routes linking 17 airports across Japan, with major operating bases at Shizuoka, Nagoya (Komaki), Matsumoto and Fukuoka.

According to Embraer, Fuji Dream Airlines has operated E-Jets since launching commercial service in 2009. The manufacturer said the airline's fleet has maintained a 12-month average schedule reliability of more than 99.8%, reflecting high operational and maintenance performance.
