Defense technology company Galvion has unveiled the Cortex EVO HALO, a new digital soldier system designed to bring advanced communications, data processing and situational awareness capabilities to military helmets, at Eurosatory 2026.
The Cortex EVO HALO expands Galvion's Cortex architecture, an integrated headborne system that combines power management, data connectivity and computing functions for soldiers operating in complex battlefield environments.
According to the company, the HALO configuration can be mounted on both new and existing military helmets, allowing armed forces to upgrade fielded equipment without replacing entire helmet fleets. The system is initially available for Galvion's Batlskin Caiman helmet and is expected to be integrated with the company's Hellbender platform in the future.
At the core of the system is Galvion's AlertCentr software, which delivers mission-critical information through visual and audio alerts. Compatible with Tactical Assault Kit (TAK)-based networks, the software is designed to improve battlefield awareness and reduce reliance on handheld devices.
The Cortex EVO HALO integrates multiple soldier technologies into a single architecture, including sensor feeds, navigation systems, digital communications, threat detection capabilities, power management and data networking. Its open-architecture design also allows third-party systems to be incorporated.
Jonathan Blanshay, Galvion's founder and executive chairman, said the company developed Cortex EVO as a purpose-built digital soldier platform rather than simply attaching new technologies to existing helmets.
"The HALO configuration extends the benefits of Cortex EVO across both new programs and fielded helmet fleets," Blanshay said.
He added that years of investment had enabled the company to create a scalable system that combines sensing, communications, visualization and situational awareness capabilities within a unified soldier-worn architecture.
Galvion said the system offers military organizations a cost-effective path to modernize helmet fleets while improving soldier survivability, operational effectiveness and battlefield situational awareness.
