GE Aerospace is highlighting next-generation technologies and breakthrough capabilities across commercial and defense aviation, including its electrified powertrain flight demonstration aircraft, at Farnborough Airshow 2026.
According to the company, the demonstration aircraft - a modified Saab 340B, will fly daily during the event.
The company's Flying Test Bed, which features a new livery design, will be on static display behind the company’s chalet. The aircraft, a Boeing 747-400, enables the company’s efforts to test and validate the safety and reliability of engine technologies.
The company's chalet features an observation deck with direct views of the company’s static and flight displays, including the 747 Flying Test Bed and Saab 340B. Guests also will experience interactive exhibits such as the RISE Open Fan model, hybrid electric technology, AI-enabled inspection tools, and case studies focused on durability, efficiency, and future of flight technologies.
“At GE Aerospace, our focus is on delivering for our customers today while investing in the technologies that will shape the future of flight.," said H. Lawrence Culp, Jr., GE Aerospace Chairman and CEO. "The Farnborough International Airshow is an opportunity to showcase the strength of our commitment to our customers and the progress we are making on breakthrough technologies for the future.”
At the event, CFM International will provide updates on the LEAP engine as it approaches 10 years of service, as well as progress on the CFM RISE program. During the show, GE Aerospace, NASA, BETA Technologies, and Boeing will offer an insight into how hybrid electric propulsion is advancing to meet customer needs for greater efficiency and durability.
