Gebrüder Weiss, an Austria-based international transport and logistics company, has expanded its transport and logistics services in Poland, introducing national and international partial and full truckload (LTL/FTL) transport, along with additional warehousing and logistics solutions, including order picking. The new services, launched at the start of 2025, build on the company’s existing logistics, air, and sea freight operations in Poland, which have been in place since 2020. As a result, the company’s team in Poland has grown to 70 employees.
Customers can track their shipments in real time and access digital documents via the myGW customer portal. The company serves industries such as high-tech, automotive, consumer goods, e-commerce, and pharmaceuticals, including the storage and handling of temperature-sensitive medical products.
“Depending on how the economy develops, further locations are also possible,” said Maciej Szczyglowski, Country Manager Poland Land & Logistics at Gebrüder Weiss. “For example, in Wroclaw or Katowice, where we can imagine new logistics terminals for goods handling.” The company is also considering expanding its role as a Lead Logistics Provider to further optimise customers' supply chains.
Poland has become a key production and warehousing hub in Europe, with its economy growing three times faster than the EU average in 2024 due to increased consumer spending. Infrastructure development continues, including a major airport project with an international freight centre.
“Our goal is to offer companies in Poland with a first-class and comprehensive range of logistics services,” said René Stranz, Area Manager for Slovakia and Poland at Gebrüder Weiss. “By combining different modes of transport, our customers will be able to react even more flexibly to market requirements and make their supply chains more efficient in the future.”
Poland is a significant trade and export market, particularly for German companies, as well as for imports from Asia and the US. Gebrüder Weiss currently operates in Krakow, Wroclaw, Gdynia, and Warsaw.
