Pakistan’s state-owned defence conglomerate Global Industrial & Defence Solutions (GIDS) is showcasing a new range of loitering munitions for the first time outside Pakistan. The Blaze family of loitering munitions was shown at the IDEAS defence exhibition in Pakistan last year.
Speaking to GBP Dailiy News, a company official said that the Blaze family of loitering munitions were now in the final phase of developmental trials. The company is eying export opportunities for the new weapon system, while a Pakistani order is in process. The loitering munitions are available in ground and air-launched versions.
On display at IDEX are the Blaze 25, 50 and 75. These loitering munitions have a range of 75 km, 160 km and 500 km respectively.
Also on display were models of the company’s Shahpar II and III drones, the former of which is in service in Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
