GIDS Displays Pakistan’s Armed UAV-Shahpar-II at DIMDEX 2022

Pakistan has covered a long way to have strong foothold of attaining stronger & superior defence capability in multifaceted realms including high-end systems and UAVs. GIDS is Pakistan’s only state-owned & largest manufacturer of a wide-range of UAVs (from short-range small systems to MALE class tactical & armed UAVs).


In DIMDEX-2022, GIDS displays its armed variant of Shahpar II UAV, symbolizing Pakistan’s stature in the pursuit of self-reliance and capabilities to counter all kinds of challenges.


Shahpar-II is a medium altitude, long endurance unmanned aircraft with armed capability. It has a modular airframe structural design comprising of advanced composite and metallic hybrid structure with improved aerodynamic design. Some of the notable features includes its autonomous take-off & landing system, a robust autopilot scheme, user friendly and a comprehensive mission planning & management software suite, reliable data links and the capability of integrating various types of EO payloads. In armed configuration, Shahpar-II UAV is equipped with 2 x AGMs / weapon of 45 kg under each wing station. Shahpar-II Armed UAV has endurance of 07 hours with the ceiling of 18000 ft and max speed of 120 knots.


GIDS spearheads the mandate of government in “industry-to-industry Defence collaborations” and technology initiatives and welcomes any collaborative ventures with Qatar to take the friendship to the next level. They anticipate that participation in DIMDEX-2022 will open new avenues and will surely turn out to be a success story alongside strengthening the mutual ties between Pakistan & Qatar in the defence domain.
