Gulfstream has achieved another major milestone, with the airframer announcing that its newly certified G800, the company’s flagship ultralong-range aircraft, has notched its eighth city-pair speed record, this time on its flight from Phuket, Thailand, to Dubai—covering the route in just 5 hours and 38 minutes.
This latest achievement joins seven other G800 records set shortly after the aircraft entered service in August. These include notable long-distance routes such as Miami–Riyadh in 12 hours, 33 minutes, and Florence–Savannah in 9 hours, 33 minutes. With the new additions, the Gulfstream fleet now holds more than 760 city-pair speed records worldwide.
“Setting eight speed records this quickly is a powerful testament to the tremendous capabilities of this aircraft,” said Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream. “We are already seeing overwhelming interest and demand for the G800 and are pleased to be showcasing it in Dubai. The Middle East continues to be a strong region for Gulfstream, and we look forward to meeting customers and prospects this week.”
Alongside the G800, Gulfstream is also exhibiting the G700, which recently passed 90 city-pair speed records. Among its latest achievements:
· Dubai → Sydney: 12 hours, 50 minutes
· Jakarta → Lagos: 12 hours, 41 minutes
· Abu Dhabi → London: 7 hours, 48 minutes
· Dubai → Hong Kong: 6 hours, 30 minutes
