HAL Gauging Egyptian Interest for RUDRA Armed Helicopter

Indian state-owned airframer Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is displaying a model of the Rudra Weapon System Integrated (Dhruv MkIV) at the ongoing EDEX to gauge Egyptian interest in the platform. The Rudra attack helicopter is already operational with the Indian armed forces. Company officials declined to comment further but stated should there be Egyptian interest, HAL would be keen to provide additional details as requested. The Rudra is fitted with Nexter THL-20mm chin mounted cannon and carries 70mm rockets and MBDA’s Mistral ATAM. The 5.8 Ton class is powered by two Shakti Engines and is based on the Dhruv utility helicopter. The Indian army and air force are to acquire a total of 76 Rudra helicopters. The Dhruv utility and its various variants are in widespread use with the Indian army, air force, navy, coast guard and paramilitary forces.
