Hanwha Ocean’s 4,000-ton class frigate is the centerpiece of its exhibition and this model is on offer by the shipbuilder for the Royal Thai Navy’s (RTN) second frigate programme. It builds on the legacy of the 2018 delivery of the first frigate, HTMS Bhumibol Adulyadej. Hanwha Ocean is now offering the upgraded design which has grown from 3,750 tons to 4,000 tons.
This will enhance the RTN’s blue-water operational capability beyond coastal defense. Hanwha Ocean’s 4,000-ton class frigate features advanced weapon and sensor systems, next-generation stealth design, and integration of unmanned platforms to support multi-domain missions. It is armed with advanced missile systems, naval guns, and torpedoes, the frigate delivers enhanced lethality through cutting-edge sensors that improve surveillance, targeting, and threat detection.
In addition to the model of the frigate on offer to the RTN, Hanwha Ocean is showcasing a 2,000-ton Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) optimized for regional maritime security operations; a Multi-Role Support Ship (MRSS) designed for logistics and joint missions and a 2,000-ton class submarine developed for undersea operations in Southeast Asia.
Since 1973, Hanwha Ocean has built more than 1,400 vessels, including 114 naval vessels.
