Turkish systems and software specialist Havelsan has signed a procurement contact with Qatar's Barzan Maintenance Shield for maintenance support in connection with the AW-139 Project.
The deal was signed at IDEF 2021 by Dr. Mehmet Akif Nacar, Havelsan General Manager and Abdullah Al-Khater, Vice President of Barzan Maintenance Shield.
Under the terms of the agreement, Havelsan will provide maintenance, repair, sustainment and operation services for an AW-139 Full Mission Simulator (FMS), AW-139 Flight and Navigation Procedures Trainer (FNPT), AW-139 Rear Cabin Trainer (RCT), Tactical Control Centre (TCC), and Debriefing System.
The simulator and other equipment are located at the Qatar Emiri Air Force AL UDEID Military Air Base in Doha. Havelsan will deploy two maintenance technicians in the field for the entire 36 months of the contract. A minimum of 100 hours of training per month will be provided for each system.
