New Horizon Aircraft, doing business as Horizon Aircraft, has announced a design collaboration with Andrea Mocellin to further develop the form and aesthetics of its Cavorite X7 hybrid-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
Mocellin is a mobility designer with experience across the aviation, automotive, and micromobility sectors. His previous roles include work with Lilium, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, NIO, Pininfarina, and the award-winning Revolve Air. Horizon Aircraft stated that his approach—combining engineering, aerodynamics, and design—will contribute to shaping the visual identity of the Cavorite X7.
The Cavorite X7 is being developed as a hybrid-electric eVTOL aircraft with a focus on range, performance, safety, and operational flexibility. The collaboration with Mocellin will focus on refining the aircraft’s external proportions and design features, aiming to balance aesthetics with aerodynamic efficiency and functionality. The interior will also be designed with adaptable layouts to support different use cases while maintaining comfort and practicality.
“As we push forward with the next phase of the Cavorite X7’s development, partnering with Andrea allows us to elevate the aircraft’s design and reinforce our commitment to world-class innovation in eVTOL technology,” said Brandon Robinson, CEO and Co-founder at Horizon Aircraft.
“It is a unique opportunity to collaborate with Horizon Aircraft on this groundbreaking project,” said Andrea Mocellin. “Bringing together my experience in transportation design and mobility innovation, our goal is to create an aircraft that is both performance-driven and instantly recognizable, setting a new benchmark in the industry.”
Horizon Aircraft is working to develop one of the first hybrid eVTOL aircraft designed to operate largely like a conventional aircraft. The company aims to combine performance and utility with a design focused on mission requirements. It plans to complete testing and certification of the Cavorite X7 before beginning production for potential regional, emergency response, and defence applications.
