Huawei introduced five innovative aviation solutions at Madrid's Passenger Terminal Expo 2025, designed to drive intelligent upgrades within the industry, including the Smart Airport Intelligent Operation Center (IOC).
Huawei’s comprehensive approach integrates cutting-edge technologies with aviation services, creating an intelligent digital twin framework that combines connectivity, cloud computing, AI, and application development. This new architecture aims to significantly improve operational efficiency, business value, safety, and the overall passenger experience.
The Smart Airport IOC offers precise, data-driven decision-making through comprehensive situational awareness. Built around the Total Airport Management (TAM) concept, the IOC unifies over 30 airport production systems into one seamless platform, providing real-time monitoring of operations and the ability to deploy service resources proactively. The system enables airlines and airports to manage disruptions efficiently, strengthen security measures, and improve the overall passenger experience.
Huawei’s Smart Airport Perimeter Security with Fiber Sensing Solution further enhances airport security. Utilizing Huawei’s advanced distributed fiber optic sensing technology and AI-driven algorithms, the solution can accurately detect airfield intrusions, even in harsh weather conditions. Its design ensures a minimal number of false alarms while never missing an intrusion, significantly boosting operational security at airports.
The company’s Digital and Intelligent Platform for Airports leverages cloud, data, and AI to transform airport operations. Key services are migrated to the cloud with active-active deployment, ensuring zero data loss and a dramatic reduction in recovery time from one hour to just five minutes, while meeting a 99.99% availability standard. Additionally, the platform incorporates a comprehensive data governance system, ensuring high-quality data that supports intelligent applications. Huawei’s advanced AI capabilities further enhance the platform’s functionality, supporting open and compatible mainstream models and engines for adaptable and scalable solutions.
Huawei’s Xinghe Intelligent Airport Integrated Data Network Solution offers a high-quality, reliable communications network designed specifically for airports. By incorporating Wi-Fi 7 technology, this solution enhances the passenger experience, increasing bandwidth for VIP passengers by 20%. Huawei's exclusive Wi-Fi Shield also ensures data security by preventing data theft during air interface transmission, further protecting sensitive airport data.
Lastly, the Smart Airport Fully Connected All-Optical Network integrates IP and Passive Optical LAN (POL) technologies to optimize airport networks. The introduction of the OptiXstar P892M, a 10G M45 panel-type Optical Network Unit (ONU), is a significant innovation for airports. This ONU offers versatile installation options, such as tabletop, wall embedding, and floor cylinder, while enhancing the overall performance and reliability of airport communication networks.
With these solutions, Huawei has now been adopted by over 210 airports, airlines, and air traffic management authorities worldwide, continuing to lead the digital transformation of the aviation sector.
