Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) will convert an additional three B767-300 passenger aircraft to cargo configuration for DHL International, with the potential for the conversion of a fourth aircraft.
The contract marks another major milestone for IAI’s aircraft cargo conversions program and the broadening of business for IAI’s Aviation Group, which was established in January 2019 by combining the company’s commercial and military aircraft activities.
Over the last decade, converted B767s have been the backbone of the cargo aircraft market. To maintain its dominance in this market and offer new solutions, IAI’s Aviation Group signed a contract with aircraft financing and leasing company GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) to design, develop, and certify the B777-300 passenger to cargo conversion.
