A cooperation protocol has been signed between the organisers of the Homeland Security Equipment Exhibition (İGEF) and the Turkish Aeronautical Association (THK) along with Orion Tekmer. The agreement is intended to foster collaborative initiatives in the lead-up to İGEF’25, support broader industry cooperation, and create mutually beneficial opportunities within the homeland security sector.
The signing ceremony took place on 14 May at the headquarters of THK and Orion Tekmer, with the attendance of several prominent figures. These included Governor Kemal Yurtnaç, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at THK; Dr İbrahim Taşdemir, Vice President of THK; Prof Dr Rahmi Er, Rector of THK University; İzzet Tuna, General Manager of the Turkish Police Force Strengthening Foundation; Atilla Önal, Deputy General Manager of the Gendarmerie Public Order Foundation; Zeki Erdoğan, Chairman of the Board for İGEF’25; Fırat Kara, Founder of THK & Orion Tekmer; and İsa Uysal, General Manager of THK & Orion Tekmer, among other invited guests.
In his opening remarks, İsa Uysal, General Manager of THK & Orion Tekmer, emphasised the significance of the collaboration in supporting Türkiye’s internal security technology and entrepreneurial development. He stated:
“İGEF’25 is more than just an exhibition—it is a hub for innovation where future-focused ideas meet practical field applications. At THK & Orion Tekmer, we aim to function as a bridge, connecting entrepreneurs in strategic sectors like defence and homeland security with the networks, collaborations, and pathways necessary to turn their solutions into real-world tools.”
Zeki Erdoğan, Chairman of İGEF’25, noted Türkiye’s solid foundation and experience in homeland security, highlighting the potential to further enhance its capabilities at both national and international levels. Governor Kemal Yurtnaç also expressed his satisfaction with the new partnership, describing it as a step likely to bring long-term benefits to the sector.
