Russian airframer Ilyushin has rolled out the first prototype of the IL-112V light transport aircraft from the Voronezh aviation plant. The new light transport is slated to make its maiden flight before the end of the year and series production is expected to begin in 2019.
The IL-112V is being designed as a replacement for the An-26 and is powered by two TV7-117CT turboprop engines. The light transport aircraft will have a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of 21 tonne and a max pay- load capacity of 5 tonne. Range with a payload of 3.5 tonne is quoted as 2,400 km.
