The Azerbaijani Improtex Group of Companies (ITX Motors) operates in the defence industry, focusing on the development, production and modernization of military-purpose equipment. The company’s key projects include mechanical mine-clearance machines, armoured military vehicles and special-purpose platforms.
One of the company’s notable projects is the Revival P mechanical mine-clearance machine. Primarily designed for clearing anti-personnel mines, the vehicle features remote-control capability, allowing the operator to remain outside the hazardous area.
Another member of the Revival family is the Revival T mechanical mine-clearance machine. Designed for clearing anti-tank mines, the vehicle can withstand explosions of up to 11 kilograms of TNT.
The operational use of Revival vehicles is also an important part of the company’s activities. The Revival P was presented to ANAMA for mine clearance operations in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories. In addition, it was reported that the vehicle was supplied to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service in 2023.
The company’s military vehicle activities also include the development of armoured vehicles. Improtex Industries developed the ITX SII 450 armoured personnel carrier project. The company also developed the ITX 20H MRAP armoured vehicle, which was first displayed at ADEX-2024.
Among the company’s newer projects is the ITX 6L Special Operations Vehicle (SOV). Two prototypes of the platform underwent testing with the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence, including at high altitudes. Fully manufactured in Azerbaijan, the platform was developed on a reinforced chassis designed and tested by local engineers. In 2025, it was displayed in the inventory of the Azerbaijani Army during a military parade in Baku. The 6L SOV is based on a 4×4 military chassis and is powered by a 225-horsepower V6 diesel engine.
The activities of Improtex extend beyond the development of new equipment. The company’s projects cover a broad range, from mine-clearance systems to armoured and special-purpose vehicles. The development of local technologies, testing under real operational conditions and access to foreign markets constitute key areas of the company’s activities in the defence industry.
