Indonesia has become the first export customer for the Russian BMP-3F Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC), following the conclusion of a contract between JSC Rosoboronexport (part of the Rostec State Corporation) and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia. The amphibious BMP-3F APC will be used by the Indonesian Marine Corps.

The BT-3F is based on the BMP-3F and in addition to transport of troops it can also pro- vide fire support for ground troops during combat operations. The IFV is capable of transporting 17 people in air-conditioned cabin and is equipped with energy-absorbing folding chairs and seats equipped with five-point seat belts. The BT-3F is fitted with a two-plane stabilized remote-con- trolled 12.7 mm machine gun and also features a tele-thermal imaging sight with a laser rangefinder.
