Indonesian Success for Terma SCANTER 2202 Radars

: Nov 6, 2018 - : 4:54 pm

Terma has bagged additional Indonesian orders for supply of SCANTER 2202 radars and 18ft antennas for Vessel Traffic Management operations in two Indonesian Seaports – Port of Tarakan and Port of Panjang, the company has announced.

The two separate orders were received over the last six months and company officials say that they are confident of repeat orders, as the seaports seek to enhance their traffic management capabilities.

The Directorate General of Sea Transportation (DGST) currently operates the SCANTER radars in several seaports to monitor the vessels traffic and to ensure smooth port operations and safety. Examples of seaports relying on Terma SCANTER radars on a daily base are Jakarta, Bintuni, Merak and Tanjung Priok.

In the Asia Pacific region alone, Terma has supplied more than 120 units of its newest SCANTER 2000 and SCANTER 5000 series for Vessel Traffic Service and Coastal Surveillance. The SCANTER 2000 Series is especially suited for Vessel Traffic Services (VTS), river, and inner port surveillance.
