The Indonesian Marine Corps has recently completed an inspection of its BMP-3F amphibious armoured personnel carriers, confirming the addition of upgraded armour to enhance battlefield survivability.
The upgrade package, provided by PT. Teknologi Militer Indonesia (TMI) in collaboration with PT. International Golden Group (IGG), includes a combination of slat and plate armour on the vehicle’s front and sides, aiming to improve protection against penetrative projectiles.
The Deputy Commander of the Marine Corps, Brigadier General Muhammad Nadir, acknowledged the importance of this modernisation effort in ensuring the BMP-3F remains effective in current operational conditions. He expressed appreciation to PT. TMI for its contribution, highlighting that the improvement is expected to boost troop morale and strengthen the vehicle’s performance in defending Indonesia’s national integrity.
