Tokyo University of Science startup Innophys is highlighting its range of “Muscle Suit” assistive suits, which include Muscle Suit Exo-Power, Muscle Suit Every, Muscle Suit Soft-Power, and Muscle Suit GS-ARM, at the ongoing show.

The company’s products, including Muscle Suit Every, Muscle Suit Soft-Power, and Muscle Suit GS-ARM, are currently in use at Hyakuri Air Base in Komitama City, Ibaraki Prefecture. The suits help reduce physical strain during demanding tasks such as the transport of heavy equipment and support more flexible and efficient personnel operations within the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF).

Muscle Suit Exo-Power is an exoskeleton-style assist suit delivering the highest support force in the series—up to 27 kgf using compressed-air-driven artificial muscles. Used in demanding sectors such as nursing care, agriculture, fisheries, construction, and manufacturing, it is designed to reduce lower back strain when lifting heavy items or working from a semi-bent position. Muscle Suit Every is a lightweight assist suit (3.8 kg) that provides up to 25.5 kgf of lifting support. It uses compressed-air-powered artificial muscles without requiring electricity, making it suitable for a range of work environments including logistics, construction, agriculture, manufacturing, and caregiving.

Muscle Suit Soft-Power is a supporter-type assist suit incorporating compressed-air artificial muscle technology into a low-contact design. Muscle Suit GS-ARM is a non-powered arm support suit that uses gas springs to assist arm movements, delivering approximately 4.5 kgf of support per arm. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor tasks, the assist level can be adjusted by swapping gas springs.
