AIAD Showcases Italy’s Aerospace and Defense Industry Might

The Italian Industries Federation for Aerospace, Defence and Security (AIAD) is leading the Italian Pavilion at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, bringing together the country's leading aerospace, defense and space companies as Italy seeks to expand exports and strengthen international industrial partnerships.

The pavilion features about 10 Italian companies showcasing technologies for both the civil and military aerospace sectors, including aircraft, helicopters, defense electronics, missile systems, space technologies, uncrewed platforms and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services.

AIAD, Italy's national trade association for the aerospace, defense and security industries, represents most of the country's major companies in aviation, naval systems, land systems, cybersecurity, electronics and space. The federation serves as the industry's primary representative to the Italian government, NATO, European institutions and international partners.

According to the Italian Pavilion catalogue, AIAD is using Farnborough to promote Italian aerospace and defense exports, support partnerships with foreign governments and manufacturers, showcase technological innovation and help domestic companies participate in multinational programs.

Farnborough, one of the world's largest aerospace and defense exhibitions, provides a key platform for AIAD members to pursue export opportunities and deepen industrial cooperation amid rising global demand for military and commercial aerospace technologies.

Italy is also using the airshow to reinforce its role in major international defense programs, including the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) with the United Kingdom and Japan, which aims to develop a sixth-generation fighter aircraft by 2035.

Several AIAD member companies, including Leonardo, Avio Aero and other Italian suppliers, are key contributors to GCAP and other multinational aerospace initiatives.
