Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) has signed a deal with Airbus, the world’s largest commercial airplane maker, to expand comprehensive cooperation in the defense and aerospace sectors.
According to the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed during ADEX 2025, the two companies will pursue joint projects in special mission aircraft, medium-lift helicopter development, and aerial refueling tests for the KF-21 and FA-50 fighter jets.
"This expanded cooperation marks an important milestone in strengthening the competitiveness of Korea's aerospace industry," KAI's acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Cha Jae-byung said. He added: "Through a strategic partnership built on mutual trust, we aim to achieve sustainable growth and lead in future technologies."
Anand Stanley, president of Airbus for the Asia-Pacific region, described Korea as a key strategic partner for their company. The agreement underscores both companies’ shared commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the advancement of South Korea’s aerospace industry.
