KAI Brings Fighter Jets, Helicopters and Space Technologies

South Korea's Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) is showcasing its expanding portfolio of military aircraft, helicopters, unmanned systems and space technologies at the ongoing Farnborough International Airshow 2026, highlighting its ambition to grow as a global aerospace and defense supplier.

KAI is displaying a range of indigenous platforms, including the KT-1 basic trainer, T-50 advanced jet trainer, FA-50 light combat aircraft, KF-21 next-generation fighter, KUH-1 Surion utility helicopter, LAH light attack helicopter and the RQ-101 unmanned aerial vehicle.

The company said it is positioning itself as a total aerospace solutions provider, with ongoing development of the KF-21 fighter and LAH helicopter serving as key drivers of its future growth.

Beyond aircraft, KAI is also expanding into the space sector through programs including the Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite 500, defense satellites and the Korea Launch Vehicle, underscoring South Korea's efforts to strengthen domestic capabilities across air and space domains.

KAI has emerged as one of Asia's leading defense manufacturers, with its T-50 trainer family and FA-50 light fighter exported to several countries, including the Philippines, Poland, Malaysia, Iraq, Indonesia and Thailand, as Seoul seeks to expand its presence in the global defense market.
