Indian defense manufacturer Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd. (KSSL) unveiled a new family of truck-mounted 155mm artillery systems at the Eurosatory 2026 defense exhibition on Monday, expanding its portfolio of mobile fire-support platforms for international customers.

The MArG (Multi-terrain Artillery Gun) series consists of three variants mounted on a 4x4 wheeled chassis: the 39-calibre MArG 39, the 45-calibre MArG 45 and the 52-calibre MArG 52. The systems are designed to provide armed forces with different range and firepower options while maintaining commonality in training, maintenance and logistics.

KSSL said the artillery systems were developed for rapid deployment and "shoot-and-scoot" operations, allowing crews to fire and relocate quickly to reduce vulnerability to counter-battery attacks.

The guns are compatible with NATO-standard 155mm ammunition, including precision-guided munitions, and can be used for missions ranging from fire support to interdiction and counter-battery operations.

According to the company, the 4x4 platform offers greater mobility and a smaller logistics footprint than heavier tracked or wheeled artillery systems. The vehicles are intended for use in a range of environments, including mountainous, desert and urban terrain.

The MArG 39, the newest variant in the series, is being displayed at Eurosatory 2026 for potential customers in Europe and other markets. KSSL said the system combines long-range indirect fire capability with the mobility of a light wheeled platform, making it suitable for expeditionary and rapid-response forces.

Amit Kalyani, vice chairman and joint managing director of Bharat Forge, KSSL's parent company, said the artillery family was designed to provide armed forces with a mobile and deployable firepower solution.

"With the MArG series, we bring six decades of precision engineering and metallurgical expertise to a product engineered for armed forces worldwide. Redefining deployable artillery, KSSL has set a new global benchmark that gives armed forces uncompromising firepower and mobility - and gives partner nations the means to build that capability for themselves," Kalyani said.
