KNDS Ammo Highlights Munitions Support for Qatari Armed Forces

Our Bureau - : Jan 22, 2026 - : 1:55 am

Building on more than four decades of Franco-Qatari defence cooperation, KNDS Ammo is highlighting its munitions expertise at DIMDEX in support of the operational requirements of the Qatari Armed Forces.

KNDS Ammo is presenting its full range of 30×173 mm munitions for infantry fighting vehicles, offering a comprehensive portfolio of effects including high-explosive, airburst and armour-piercing fin-stabilised kinetic penetrator (APFSDS) rounds. The company notes that the entire family is also available with dedicated training ammunition, supporting both operational readiness and cost-effective training.

Also being showcased are KNDS Ammo’s 40 mm telescoped munitions for the RAPIDFire system. The telescoped design provides increased compactness, allowing a higher onboard ammunition load per system. The range includes multiple configurations, from GPR-AB and kinetic penetrator rounds to the A3B air-defence munition, designed to address evolving aerial threats.

In the indirect fire domain, KNDS Ammo is highlighting its 120 mm mortar munition portfolio, including high-explosive and illuminating rounds. These munitions are fully qualified on the Patria NEMO turret and are positioned to meet a range of operational requirements.

The company is also presenting its MATARIS family of loitering munitions, developed in collaboration with DELAIR and EOS. The range covers short- and medium-range systems, including rotary-wing and fixed-wing designs, with warheads developed by KNDS Ammo. The portfolio includes systems with ranges from 10 km to 100 km, and the company says it remains open to tailoring solutions to specific customer requirements.

Building on earlier cooperation with Qatari forces, KNDS Ammo has also developed advanced 120 mm tank ammunition, including the SHARD round, designed to reduce barrel wear while maintaining high levels of effectiveness. In parallel, the company continues to develop precision artillery solutions, including the BONUS munition, which employs autonomous target acquisition against armoured vehicles.
