KNDS France announced its ongoing commitment to strengthening strategic industrial cooperation with Indonesia’s domestic defense and technological industrial base (DTIB). The company, which has maintained a partnership with Indonesia’s Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) and the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) for over 40 years, emphasizes its role as a long-term partner
KNDS France’s regional office in Jakarta, established in 2022, aims to deepen this industrial partnership. The company has expressed understanding of Indonesia’s goal to achieve autonomy and self-sufficiency in key defense areas and states its commitment to contributing to these objectives. KNDS France has reiterated its intention to foster long-term industrial cooperation with Indonesian state-owned enterprises (BUMN) and private sectors. This cooperation is expected to involve Transfer of Technology and Transfer of Manufacturing, particularly in artillery and medium to large caliber ammunition, aligning with the Indonesian government’s roadmap for its defense industry
During the ongoing INDODEFENCE 2024 exhibition held between 11 to 14th June 2025, KNDS France signed five Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) in the land defense domain with Kemhan and various Indonesian industries. These MOUs are intended to strengthen KNDS France’s industrial partnerships within Indonesia’s DTIB.
The signed MOUs include agreements with PT Pindad for future cooperation in artillery and large caliber ammunition, with a focus on local production transfer. A collaboration with PT Dirgantara is planned for equipping Indonesian helicopters with 20mm cannons. Additionally, an MOU with PT SSE aims to develop a counter-UAV variant of the P2-TIGER, and an agreement with Balitbang will explore research and development topics in land defense
