Law Enforcement Variant of Bell 429 Makes Asian Debut

Bell is displaying a variant of its popular Bell 429 helicopter configured for law enforcement agencies for the first time in Asia. The helicopter is available in corporate, HEMS, law enforcement and utility configuration.  The airframer’s Bell 429 ESG law enforcement demonstrator, recently achieved certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

The helicopter is on display at the company’s pavilion, allowing potential customers to observe its custom features.  In its law enforcement variants, the 429 can be configured with a FLIR camera system, searchlight, advanced mapping systems, tactical radio and rescue hoist winch, etc to enhance its search and rescue or surveillance capabilities.

The twin-engine platform is relied on by law enforcement agencies and search and rescue organizations, like the Swedish National Police, New York Police Department, Canadian Coast Guard, Air Zermatt’s Swiss Alps rescue team. Its optional clamshell doors easily fit litters and unwieldy cargo, allowing for easy passenger and cargo loading and unloading

The global Bell 429 fleet surpassed 500,000 global fleet hours in January and over 400 helicopters have been sold till date. In addition to the 429, Bell is also showcasing its single-engine 505 light helicopter at the static display area.
