LEAV Aviation has partnered with AirFi to introduce a new inflight entertainment, connectivity, and retail system from March 2025. The airline will implement AirFi’s wireless inflight entertainment (W-IFE), low-Earth-orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity, and a mobile payment system on its Airbus A320-200 fleet.
Passengers will be able to access a selection of entertainment options, including films, TV shows, music, games, and an interactive moving map, streamed directly to their personal devices. The system will support multiple languages and provide digital newspapers, magazines, and airline-specific content.
The LEO connectivity will enable travellers to send and receive text messages during flights. The system uses lightweight, window-mounted antennas designed to maintain fuel efficiency while providing reliable communication.
The onboard shopping experience will also be updated with AirFi’s mobile payment system, allowing flight attendants to process real-time transactions. The new system offers secure payment validation and additional payment options for passengers.
“We’re always looking for ways to enhance our passenger experience, and our partnership with AirFi is a major step in that direction,” said Daniel Broda, CEO of LEAV Aviation. “With new streaming entertainment, onboard connectivity, and a smarter retail system, we’re making flying with LEAV more enjoyable and convenient than ever.”
Job Heimerikx, CEO of AirFi, added: “We’re excited to work with LEAV Aviation to bring our inflight solutions to their growing network. LEAV’s forward-thinking approach aligns perfectly with AirFi’s mission to create seamless, engaging experiences in the sky.”
LEAV Aviation, which operates a mix of charter and scheduled flights to destinations in Greece, the Balearic Islands, and Scandinavia, is the first airline to publicly confirm the deployment of AirFi’s LEO connectivity solution.
