Italian defence conglomerate Leonardo and Hanwha Systems signed a deal during ADEX 2025 to assess new opportunities for collaboration in the Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) domain for both air and land applications.
Michela Della Maggesa, Leonardo’s media relation chief, said the agreement expands and strengthens its partnership with Hanwha, one of South Korea's leading defense and security players.
According to Maggesa, Leonardo and Hanwha Systems already have existing agreements to collaborate on the development and supply of avionics technologies — including the Grifo E radar, the Infrared Search and Track System (IRST), and other mission systems — for both South Korean and international markets.
