Leonardo is placing a strong focus on helicopter fleet expansion in the region and is attending KADEX 2018 in Astana to further enhance deliveries and promote new products set to enter the market.
The company is also seeking opportunities for rotor- craft operation in new applications, while providing even stronger support and training services to locally meet customer requirements.
As of mid- 2018, there is a fleet of nearly 100 helicopters of various types flying in Russia and CIS and these helicopters are used mainly for missions such as VIP transport, passenger transport, offshore and utility tasks.
Leonardo continues to be a major force in the commercial rotorcraft market for CIS countries and maintains a leading role as the strongest foreign manufacturer in the region for multi-engine helicopters.
This is representative of the success achieved by the AW109 series, AW139 and AW189 and has been further strengthened by the latest orders for the AW169 and the AW119 in the single engine segment.
