The Baja California Aerospace Cluster, the largest and oldest aerospace cluster in the country, has a significant presence at the ongoing event.
The cluster is over 50 years old and has the highest concentration of aerospace manufacturing companies in Mexico, with about 100 companies, which representing 25 per cent of the nationwide strength. As many as 35 thousand jobs have been generated in the region by the industry. According to Baja California Secretary of Economic Development, Carlo Bonfante Olache, the aerospace cluster is rep-resented at the event by the Industrial Development Commission of Mexicali, the Centinela, Nicoya and Calafia industrial parks, and Tijuana Economic Development Corporation (DEITAC).
Among the companies showcasing their products and capabilities at the event are Safran, Collins Aerospace, Honeywell, Gulfstream, Tecma, Igasamex, Allied Tool & Die, Innocentro Aerospace and BAP aerospace.
Representatives of the Baja Aerospace Alliance and Baja California Aerospace clusters as well as educational institutions such as Cetys University, the Technological Institute of Ensenada, the Technological University of Tijuana and the Technological Institutes of Tijuana and Mexicali are at the event.
To conclude, the Secretary highlighted that the entity has 54 years of experience in the industry, the highest concentration of aerospace manufacturing companies in Mexico (94 companies representing 25 per cent nationwide), which generate 35 thousand jobs among operators, technicians and engineers who carry out design, assembly, manufacturing, maintenance and testing operations.
