In a pivotal move, Malaysia and the United States have elevated their bilateral relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP), underscoring the two nations’ deepening cooperation across defence, aerospace, technology and regional security. The announcement was made following a meeting between Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and U.S. President Donald J. Trump on 26 October 2025, held in Kuala Lumpur alongside the 13th ASEAN–United States Summit and the 20th East Asia Summit.
