Maris-Tech Ltd., a company specialising in video and AI-based edge computing technology, has launched Uranus Ultra, a new 360° 3D video situational awareness platform designed for use in armored fighting vehicles (AFVs) and other defence operations.
Uranus Ultra is built to address both ground and airborne threats, including drones, offering comprehensive 360° coverage of the battlefield. This system provides both ground-level and aerial perspectives, helping to eliminate blind spots and enhance operational awareness in various combat scenarios, such as urban and open terrain environments. The platform integrates technologies that would typically require separate systems to detect perimeter and aerial threats, streamlining defence capabilities.
The platform’s edge computing capabilities enable real-time analysis and decision-making, removing the need for data transmission to centralised locations. This improves situational awareness and accelerates responses in mission-critical situations. Additionally, Uranus Ultra records video footage for post-mission analysis, helping to improve long-term operational performance.
Uranus Ultra delivers detailed intelligence to aid tactical decision-making, offering ultra-high-resolution video up to 8K with minimal latency. Its open architecture allows for easy integration with existing vehicle systems and supports the use of proprietary AI applications. The platform can process input from up to 12 SD/HD cameras and is powered by dual Hailo-8 AI accelerators, delivering up to 60 TOPS of processing power, enabling rapid threat detection and classification.
Designed to meet rigorous military standards, Uranus Ultra can endure extreme environments and electromagnetic interference. Its modular design allows it to be customised for a variety of defence applications, from AFVs to infrastructure protection.
Israel Bar, CEO & Founder of Maris-Tech, highlighted the significance of the platform in transforming battlefield management. He stated, "Uranus Ultra represents a paradigm shift in situational awareness technology. By enabling networked intelligence across multiple units, we're not just enhancing individual vehicle capabilities but also transforming battlefield management strategies. Our ongoing AI algorithm development continues to refine threat scenario responses, positioning Uranus Ultra as a cornerstone of next-generation defence technology."
Maris-Tech Ltd. specialises in video and AI-based edge computing technology, offering lightweight, low-power products that address complex video transmission challenges. The company provides solutions for sectors including defence, aerospace, intelligence gathering, homeland security, and communications.
