Meggitt has completed a major expansion of its Services & Support Centre of Excellence in Singapore, the company announced on Thursday.

At 42,000 square feet, the facility has doubled in size to incorporate fire detectors, cable assemblies, actuators, sensors, valves and heat exchangers, including adding over 100 new part numbers to the current aviation portfolio. The facility is equipped to support the fastest growing new generation aircraft, including the Airbus A320neo, Airbus A350XWB and Boeing 737 MAX.

“We are delighted to mark the expansion of our state-of-the-art facility in Singapore with visits from some of our most important customers, supply partners and guests from the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and JTC who have played a vital role in helping us reach this point,” said Adrian Bunn, Vice President and General Manager APAC, for Meggitt’s Services & Support division. “Our ability to support our customers with an even broader range of maintenance, repair and overhaul services has already enabled us to weather the storm posed by the global pandemic and provides an excellent foundation for growth as the industry emerges from this crisis,” he added.

“The aerospace industry is seeing signs of recovery from the impact of COVID-19, and Meggitt’s continued investment in Singapore is a testament to the confidence in Singapore’s business environment, strong aerospace infrastructure and global connectivity,” said Junie Fo, Vice President, Investment Facilitation Division, Singapore Economic Development Board. “Meggitt plays a key role in Singapore’s diverse aerospace ecosystem and we look forward to its continued growth here as we create good job opportunities for Singapore and Singaporeans.”

“Meggitt’s expansion is a vote of confidence in Seletar Aerospace Park’s attractiveness as an aerospace hub to capture growth opportunities and support its customer base in Asia,” said Lim Ai Ting, JTC Director of Aerospace and Marine Cluster.
