French defence firm Nexter, is showcasing its wide portfolio of defence equipment at the exhibition and is eyeing gaining further traction in the North African market. Egypt already operates weapons supplied by Nexter such as the 30mm gun on the Rafale along with its dedicated ammunition, as well as the 20mm NARWHAL remotely operated turret to the Egyptian Navy.
The company is also promoting its Caesar 6x6 and 8x8 Self Propelled Guns, which were most recently selected by Denmark, Morocco, the Czech Republic and Belgium. Caesar SPGs in service have fired more than 100,000 rounds in operations since 2009. Nexter also produces a wide range of ammunition ranging from 20 to 155mm. In the artillery sector, Nexter is presenting 105 and 155mm conventional ammunition (shells, fuses, modular charges) and smart ammunition (BONUS, KATANA). In addition to 120mm tank ammunition (arrow and HE), the booth features medium-caliber ammunition (20, 25, 30, 40mm) as well as 76mm naval ammunition. Models of its TITUS and the VBCI armoured vehicles are also on display. The 6x6 TITUS armoured vehicle incorporates a Nexter ARX 20 turret and the multi-role armoured vehicle is adapted to the geography of the Middle East, thanks to its engine and crossing capabilities and excellent manoeuvrability and an exceptional turning radius.
The TITUS can perform troop transport, reconnaissance, NBC and artillery support missions. The BCI T40 is a derivative of the VBCI 8x8 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) already in service with the French army, with increased firepower. It integrates a 40 CT unmanned turret equipped with the 40 CT gun and an MMP missile launcher pod. It covers a wide range of threats: drones, aircraft, vehicles and even heavily protected targets.
