North Luzon Airport Consortium Wins Clark Airport Contract

: Jan 29, 2019 - : 4:56 am

The North Luzon Airport Consortium (NLAC) has won a contract to operate and manage Clark International Airport in the Philippines for 25 years.

Partners of the NLAC include Filinvest Development, JG Summit, Philippine Airport Ground Support Solutions, and Changi Airport Philippines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Changi Airports International. The contract was awarded by the Philippines Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).

The contract means the NLAC will be responsible for the development of Clark International as the major gateway to improve connectivity between Central and North Luzon, the rest of the Philippines, and the world. It will also oversee the operations and maintenance of the existing and new terminal, which is scheduled to become operational by 2021.

The consortium will develop the commercial assets, operate and maintain project facilities, as well as fit-out the new terminal.

Filinvest Development president and CEO Josephine Gotianun-Yap earlier said, “We are thankful for this opportunity. The consortium envisions to create a new identity for Clark Airport as the Northern and Central Luzon’s gateway that will provide fast, efficient, and hassle-free travel experience.”

Gotianun-Yap added, “We are confident that with the vast experience of each member of the consortium in terms of property development, air transportation and airport operations, NLAC will be able to reinvent Clark International Airport to a world-class airport, meet the continued growth of international and domestic air travel, and deliver its commitment to the government and the public.”

NLAC entered a contract in December 2018 by winning the government’s public bidding for private companies.
