Turkish company Northstar is showcasing military Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs), including the brand-new Northstar G12 Karayel, at DIMDEX 2026. The RIBs have been developed for operational use in demanding environments.
According to Ertan Cercioglu, Special Projects Manager, the G12 Karayel is the largest RIB in the company’s portfolio. The high-speed tactical RIB has been designed for sustained performance under heavy payload. The boat has partial ballistic protection, 17 Ullman suspension seats, and Adam Younger- designed stepped hull that helps the boat reach higher speeds at lower RPMs. It is powered by twin 400 Mercury V10s.
Although built for the Turkish military, the company has seen interest from countries in the Middle East as well as a NATO country, said Cercioglu. “The G12 Karayel is the fastest landing RIB in the market at the moment. It is capable of reaching 55 knots in a fully loaded condition (2,050 kg payload) and more than 60 knots when partially loaded. Its fully modular deck is configurable per mission needs. The fuel capacity is 800 litres, and the boat can travel 300 nautical miles before refuelling .
Th company is also showcasing the Northstar 600 RDJ and 750 RDJ, ship-integrated jet RIBs for port security, coastal patrol, and deployment from larger vessels. The 750 RDJ also features a one-point lifting system for fast and safe launch and recovery.
The company has about 20 naval architects working at its three factories in Türkiye. “We have more than 30 models of RIBs, all the way from four meters to 12 meters,” added Cercioglu.
