Turkish defence manufacturer Otokar is presenting its land systems capabilities at the DSEI Japan 2025 exhibition in Chiba. The company is exhibiting scaled models of its COBRA II and ARMA 8x8 armoured vehicles, fitted with the KESKİN and 30 mm MIZRAK turrets respectively, while promoting its wider portfolio of wheeled and tracked platforms, as well as turret systems.
Otokar, a long-time supplier to NATO and United Nations operations, continues to expand its international presence. The firm reports that over 33,000 of its military vehicles are currently in service across more than 40 countries, operated by over 70 end users.
Sedef Vehbi, Head of Otokar's Military Cluster, said: “We are strengthening our position on a global scale every day. Over 33 thousand of our military vehicles are on active duty in plus 40 countries and more than 70 end users. Thanks to our superior design, testing and production capabilities, we have the ability to respond quickly to the ever-changing requirements and needs of our users. DSEI Japan, which we are attending for the first time, is an important opportunity to develop new collaborations. With our wide product range and experience in land systems, we are ready to meet the needs of the Japanese Armed Forces.”
The COBRA II is currently operated by more than 20 customers worldwide. Designed for high survivability and mobility, it provides protection against ballistic threats, mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The platform’s power-to-weight ratio supports performance in difficult terrain and extreme climates.
COBRA II can be configured for a wide range of roles, including armoured personnel carrier, anti-tank platform, reconnaissance and surveillance, CBRN reconnaissance, command and control, recovery, and medical evacuation. At DSEI Japan, Otokar is displaying a model of the COBRA II fitted with the KESKİN turret.
Also on display is the ARMA 8x8, Otokar’s modular armoured vehicle designed for adaptability in multi-role operations. The ARMA platform supports the integration of medium and high-calibre weapon systems and is suited for a range of mission profiles including peacekeeping and humanitarian operations. It offers amphibious capability, high payload capacity, and a spacious interior.
The ARMA family includes variants such as APC, IFV, command and control, recovery, CBRN reconnaissance and medical evacuation vehicles. According to Otokar, more than 650 ARMA vehicles are currently in service with nine users across five countries. The version exhibited in Japan features a 30 mm MIZRAK turret.
Otokar’s participation at DSEI Japan marks its intention to expand partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region and highlights its readiness to support the operational requirements of the Japanese Armed Forces.
