Pandemic Forces Cancellation of Bahrain International Airshow

: Sep 1, 2020 - : 1:45 am

Bahrain, Aug.31. 2020:  The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has caused the cancellation of yet another international air show.

The Organising Committee of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) has announced that the event, which was to be held November 18-20 this year, had been cancelled “due to the ongoing challenges and travel restrictions around the world caused by the COVID 19 pandemic.”

“Upon careful consideration of all factors and after consultation with our partners around the world, we believe this is in the best interest of all delegates, participants and partners, and we look forward to working together to come back stronger in 2022,” the committee said in its statement.

The Airshow is held every two years. The previous edition of the event in 2018 attracted more than 54,000 visitors and saw around $5 billion of orders being placed.
