The new Board of Directors of Fincantieri has appointed Pierroberto Folgiero as Chief Executive Officer. He takes over from Giuseppe Bono, who was at the helm of the company for over two decades.
Folgiero had previously served as CEO of Maire Tecnimont Group, an Italian firm that supplies engineering and technology services to the energy industry.
The Chairman, Claudio Graziano, is the former Italian Chief of Defence and current chairman of the European Union Military Committee. He has been granted powers related to institutional representation, supervision of the corporate security and of the internal control and risk management system.
Folgiero will be the deciding authority in the matters of ordinary and extraordinary management of the the shipbuilding group and for the submission of business plans and annual budgets to the Board of Directors.
The Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer will jointly participate in the definition of the communication and institutional relations activities, in the definition and development of national and international strategies and in the company’s internationalization activities, a press release said.
The term of the company’s new Board of Directors will be from 2022-2024.
