PT Pindad and Evolved Aero recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to collaborate on the development of drone jamming and interceptor systems. The signing took place on Friday (Apr. 25), at PT Pindad’s representative office in Jakarta.
The agreement was signed by PT Pindad President Director Sigit P. Santosa and Evolved Aero Executive Chairman Karl-Magnus Karlsson.
In his remarks, Sigit highlighted the strategic vision behind the partnership. “We will work together to develop Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and create a Pindad manufacturing base market system. Today is not only about the ceremony, but also future action—an honour for us,” he said.
Karlsson expressed similar optimism about the collaboration. “We are very enthusiastic to work with Pindad, because of its history and capabilities in the field of defence and security. We offer the adaptation of modern warfare that is needed today. We can do it together and hopefully it will be useful,” he said.
Evolved Aero, also known as Evolved Aerospace, is a Swedish-American company with roots in nearly three decades of Scandinavian UAV development. Its flagship product, the Muotse M200, is a 200 kg-class autonomous helicopter featuring hybrid propulsion, modular payloads, and optional armaments for defence and civilian applications. The company also recently introduced Gungner, a counter-drone solution designed to address emerging threats from hostile UAVs. Evolved Aero operates from Linköping, Sweden, and New York, USA.
The event concluded with the formal signing of the agreements and a group photo. The cooperation is expected to strengthen PT Pindad’s capabilities in addressing emerging aerial threats through locally developed and jointly engineered technologies.
