PT Pindad to Showcase SPS-1 Anti-Drone Weapon at Indo Defence 2025

Indonesian state-owned company PT Pindad is set to unveil its latest anti-drone weapon at Indo Defence 2025, which will be held at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, from 11 to 14 June. The new system, named the SPS-1—short for Senjata Pelumpuh Senyap (Silent Suppression Weapon)—will be on display at Hall A 279.

The company stated on its official Instagram account that the SPS-1 is designed to detect, track, and neutralise unauthorized UAVs using both soft kill and hard kill capabilities.

Pindad official said that the SPS-1 has been entirely developed domestically. The product is said to be the first in the world to combine soft kill (anti-drone jamming) and hard kill (firearms) capabilities, with all development carried out in Indonesia to optimise local content.

It was also claimed that the SPS-1 is the only system of its kind globally. The design is described as an original Indonesian development, integrating the vehicle platform, weapon system, and jammer components into a single, unified anti-drone defence solution.

The SPS-1 features two modes of operation. The soft kill mode focuses on jamming and disabling drones, while the hard kill mode is designed for the physical destruction of the target.
