PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) and France’s leading naval defence company, Naval Group, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Indo Defence 2024 Expo & Forum held at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta. The agreement was signed at the Naval Group booth by PTDI’s Director of Commerce, Technology & Development, Moh. Arif Faisal, and Naval Group’s Executive Vice President Sales & Marketing, Marie Laurie Bourgeois.

The partnership is aimed at supporting the growth of national production capabilities and technological proficiency, particularly in the underwater defence sector. This cooperation further reinforces PTDI’s role as a technology integrator in the defence industry, expanding beyond its traditional focus on aerospace platforms into strategic maritime domains.

Under the MoU, both companies will explore opportunities for cooperation in various areas of maritime defence manufacturing. These include the production of wiring harness systems, mechanical structures and components, and composite materials. The collaboration also covers the development and provision of training solutions, such as Computer-Based Training (CBT), Computer-Based Learning (CBL), and Part Task Trainers (PTT).

Additionally, the agreement encompasses efforts to develop submarine weapon systems integration, with a particular focus on torpedo systems, addressing both technical and logistical support aspects.

“This collaboration is a strategic step towards expanding our capabilities in non-aerial weapon system integration,” said Moh. Arif Faisal. “Through this partnership, we aim to strengthen our competencies in submarine torpedo system integration. It also opens up opportunities for human resource development, joint research and development, and shared use of production facilities.”
