PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) has signed a contract with the Indonesian Ministry of Defense for the procurement of six AW189 heavy-lift transport helicopters. The agreement was formalized on the opening day of the Indo Defence 2024 Expo & Forum.
The contract was symbolically signed by PTDI President Director Gita Amperiawan, witnessed by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin. This acquisition is part of a broader effort to strengthen Indonesia's air defense posture through the introduction of reliable, modern, and adaptable military equipment. The AW189 helicopters are expected to enhance the mobility and operational range of the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI).
Beyond the immediate procurement, this agreement is anticipated to expand PTDI's capabilities in the helicopter sector.
